Hi all was hoping someone could assist, I'm trying to dial into an Opt 11c using procom plus which typically works.

Currently I'm at a site the has the cable modem, cable and a phone line, when I try to use the phone line it connects but i cannot communicate with the switch is there a setting on procomm that makes it compatible using an IP line to dial out?

Thanks in advance

If I read this, you're using a cable company's phone offering (such as "Cox Digital Telephone") to dial up into a PBX; that's VoIP. The chances of reliable communication are slim to none; you'd be best off with a true POTS line.

That being said, what happens when you connect? Can you cut/paste what you're seeing in Procomm?

Yes using a cable company's offer, but no, the PBX is dial up

When i connect I hear the white noise but at the point when it's suppose to connect it just hangs there.

Thanks again

If you're hearing the two modems try to handshake, but then they never do, it's probably because of the quality of the phone line at your end (the cable modem phone line).

What type of modem is on each end? Are they both set at the same baud rate?

There is no "switch" or "settings" to account for a VoIP line; I'd bet if you had a POTS line, they would handshake OK.

your right anytime on a POTS line i never have an issue. just thought there was a setting in Procom that would be able to compesate.

Thanks again
