This is a known problem on Later versions of Microsoft. It appears to happen after "XP".
It's to do with extra security put into the "Program Files" folder area.
There are a couple of solutions available.
1, create a new folder path for Procomm such as e.g. C:\Programs\Symantec\Procomm Plus\Capture etc. I'd also create the other folders such as "Aspect", "Upload", "Download"
Then from within the Procomm Plus program, select from the top line "Options", then "Data Options" and finally "Paths". This should take you to where you can change the various locations. e.g.
c:\program files\symantec\procomm plus\capture. Just change it to whatever you have created. In my case, I have another drive "D" and I've just created another "Program Files" folder on that drive with the same sub folders such as
"d:\program files\symantec\procomm plus\capture"
"d:\program files\symantec\procomm plus\download"
"d:\program files\symantec\procomm plus\upload"
This seems to work for me.
2, Another method that might work is to right click the Procomm Plus folder in Program Files on your "C" drive and go into the properties area. Then select "Security" and add in "Everyone" in the group or user names area. The important thing here is to make sure that it has full control. I also made sure that any other account I required also had full control. Just click OK and try it.
If you were planning to install Procomm Plus from new, then I would suggest that you don't use the defaults or "Program Files" area, but create your own folder.
