Trying to login to Mermail and can't get past CONNECT 2400/ARQ/LAPM What am I missing?

Have you pressed the "Ctrl" button and ] button together?.

You might be stuck in Meriden Mail and this should take you out of it.

Try a different baud rate such as 9600 as 2400 might not be the correct one.

Yes sir. Have tried all the at&n speeds as well as the Control ] Still no go .

There often was an A/B switchbox to switch between local terminal and modem.

Thank you both for the ideas. Will have that checked as well .

which port are you connected to? The Modem or the Terminal? If you are connected to modem port, you will need a null modem adapter, or just connect to the terminal port.

so you are connecting to a local machine that is connected? You will need someone onsite to assist you. The port makes a difference on what is connected. Unless it worked before and it no longer working. If this is the case, do the Microsoft fix, and reboot the PC you are connecting to.
