Processor runs loud when ever I load a program any hints?

Hi This might be a stupid question don't know if anything can be done but I just recently bought some new computer parts and put togethor my own computer for the first time and the only problem I seem to have is that my processor or something makes alot of noise when I run a program. It makes a bit of loading noise that I don't think it should, My old processor never did that so loud.
I have an AMD 3500+ venice processor
Nforce4 asus A8N-E Mother Board
Any hints if there can anything be done would be appreciated

Your processor doesn't make any sound at all.

It might be a cooling fan making some noise, but since you indicated that you get the noise when loading a program I would suspect that it is the hard disk. Some hard disks are much louder than others. Hard disks that spin faster tend to be louder than the ones that spin slower.

To locate the source of the noise, take the cover off of the PC, put your head next to it, and start launching programs. Listen for the sound and try to pintpoint which device is causing it. Like I said, my bet is that it's the hard disk. If it is, make sure that it is mounted securely. If not, it might wobble while spinning and generate excess noise.

If it still makes excesive noise there's not much you can do about it. Some cases/systems will come with a foam or rubber spacer/washer that you might be able to us, but if you don't have one then you don't have one.

I had something similar happen , Although different components to what you are using , (I'm on Intel)

The fan would wind up under load , (went from about 2500rpm to 6500 rpm) , and basically after much head scratching , It was due to the cabling not being all nicely braided , therefore reducing airflow through the case....

I still had them somewhat tucked away , but as soon as I spent the time to re-route and twist all the extra and misc cabling into a very respectable setup. (it probably took me longer to braid all the cables then it did to build the sys!) The problem immediately stopped.

Are you trying to access programs from the hard drive, or are you loading programs from the CD/DVD player?

The Venice 3500 is a pretty cool running CPU so I doubt it's the fan spinning up.
Loading noise? must be the hard drive? or when you say loading are you saying from a disk? so a noisey Rom drive perhaps.
Most likely a chattering hard drive so get it changed imediately.
