I have not worked with COBOL for some time and have to process a tab delimited import file. I wrote a parser but it does not seem to work properly.

Does anyone have a parser routine that I could use? [sig][/sig]

Hi,

to convert tab files, download the batch utility from CA at their ftp site. The site is mentioned before on this forum. The program is called RCOPY, the file is named something like RCOPY.ZIP. The commandline statement
RCOPY INFILE[T] OUTFILE[N]
will do all the work. You get a normal sequential file and the tabs will be replaced by the right amount of spaces. The zip file contains also an explanation. It is a free utility and it works perfect for years now. [sig][/sig]

Hi,

Thank you. That will help. [sig][/sig]
