Processes run very slow

Have a PC running Windows 2000 --- This particular computer runs programs extremely slow and I'm now getting the following error :
"The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was restarted"
Can anyone tell me what the problem might be please?

Any chance you've installed Homesite or Coldfusion?
If so, reference this:

Also, try shutting down whatever virus apps you may be running (namely McAfee) and see if that might be the source of the problem.

Have searched for both .dll files and neither are found. Do not see Homesite or Cold Fusion either.
