I have a Large M1 system with Motoralas (25.40 I think) that I am working on upgrading to a CS1K 7.5. With that being said, I have about 200 Wireless sets that are being used. The plan is to "Bring back" all the Wireless handsets to the cradle and reset to use DHCP ~ So, more to the story~ (1) Sig server, 4 MG Cards. the current Node ID is 1. The Upgrade also has a CS1000B for DR ~ New node id's will be (4) digits, Say CS1K= Node 0100 and the Branch CS1000B Node 0200 (that is for example only)~ The client wants to get the Wireless Component done first with the Node Change then , a couple weeks later upgrade the Cores and periphials to 7.5 add a second sig server plus more media gateways. The upgrade path is pretty certain and all the caveats worked out~ What I am looking for is a high level overview (step by step) of Deleting the Node, then Programming all the devices in the New Node
Example : Delete MG'S
Delete CS'S
Delete SS
Delete Node

Build Node
Deploy SS
Deploy CS
Deploy MG'S

Not sure if this is correct? Is an INI of the CS'S Required Also ?

Thank You

I know one thing is that you will need to make sure that the node id is the same on both or you will physically have to reprogram the sets everytime they switch. It's been awhile since I have worked on 25.4o but don't you just delete the node and rebuild it and then push to the sig servs and you are all set.

i think even if your node id is 1 it's still 4 digits, 0001

depending what the new system will be if you get a 1000E then your Network shelves and CPU;s are gone, so you could prebuild the whole system in a lab type setup, everything, including the database (just put an embargo on set changes)
you would wind up with an MG1010(s) and some IPE shelves with MG-XPEC cards (those could be programmed but installed on day of cut over).

or cardcage upgrade to PP4 if it's an old 61c / 81c

so either choice, INI is a strange question as you REBOOT the whole thing running new hardware / software

nodes get imported from the Call server to the sig server, you might be able just to import it as a different number (have not tried, but if not, easy enough to rebuild it once you have all the apps all deployed and patched).

OK ! Thanks,
Maybe I did not explain correctly. This "Node" change is along the "Path" to the upgrade. The M1 as it exists "Today" has a "Node ID of 1. It is required that the Node ID be changed prior to the upgrade (several weeks) to straighten things out for "Down the road". Part of the Process is to Retrieve all the Wireless phones to "Change them from "Non-DHCP" TO "DHCP" . ( Since the Handsets will be in our possession for a 3 day window, it was thought that this would be the time to change the Node ID.) So,I believe I have reset the question a little more Clearly.

As a reference, The actual Upgrade to the M1, The Branch CS1000 B, additional sig server, and the media gateways are Moot~ that piece is known and understood.

Thank You

Delete the node files in the call server first :
pdt> cd node
pdt> ll

Directory of 'cs1000e:/var/opt/nortel/cs/fs/u/db/node':

SIZE DATE TIME NAME
---------- ----------- -------- ------------
4096 Nov-14-2012 11:16:26 . <DIR>
4096 Nov-15-2012 00:01:13 .. <DIR>
6779 Nov-07-2012 16:17:32 node1.cfg
14 Nov-14-2012 11:16:26 node.pch
406 Nov-07-2012 16:17:32 node1.btp
159 Nov-07-2012 16:17:57 node1.xml
Maybe your path /u/db/node .
Delete all of this files .
Then open element mangaer / node
There will be empty now
Build a new one
Remember that the hole configuration will deleted ( screenshot s are helpful)
I had the same task last weekend .
