My company has 8 pbxs. 4 of them are avaya pbxs, 2 are nortel and 2 are ericssion. Due to security and controls issues, there has to be only one central voicemail server for all users.

Can someone tell me the procedure for diverting voicemail from the call pilot to a third party voicemail server ... octel voicemail server?

Also, will the message notification lamp (LED) still work on the 3902 and 3904 digital phones.

Thaanks.

Themegalord,

Do you have the Nortel connected to the other pbx's via trunks?? (Qsig/Dpnss, if so the the Octel third party system can be used on the Meridian, and depending on the trunks MWI can be supported.Let me know how and if the systems are connected.

depends on the interface type for the octel.. the older ones connected to acd ports.. if that is the case then remove the call pilot acd and reinstall acd sets on dlc's.. as posted if the switches are networked with t1's or pri then you can do msg lamps.. i would perfer using the cp for all 3 switches but that's an internal call.. here's a decent rule of thumb.. if you can call now by dialing ext on the remote switches and see the name, you can light lamps. tend to run into problems (not insurmountable) is you dial a code then the ext.. i've used octel on nortel switches with remote nortels and rolms, msg lamps, names etc

Similar question. Themegalord has Avaya PBXs in the mix. I am upgrading to CPilot and 5.0. Can I use the CPilot to provide any services to the Avaya? Has anyone actually got this in service?

NARSBARS,

I have just done some Call pilot with Avaya and Mitel switches for Callpilot Rel 4 using H323 / SIP for the Cs1k to QSIG on the Mitel and Avaya, and have got this working to both, we also have two customers one with avaya and one with Mitel and both work well, I do have the Config for the CS1000 but not the avaya.too large to paste onto here though!

Dear all,

Thanks for your quick responses. The two switches are connected by an E1, isdn-pri and qsig. Do I need to create new for the agents etc? Perhaps the sample of code below can help explain the current configuration. I need someone to show me what to change.

you'll have to configure AMIS or Open AMIS protocol on both the CP and 3rd party voicemail server. On CP its pretty easy, you'll need to check the 3rd party vm to see if it can do the AMIS protocol...all of this assumes your pbx are networked together. and yes mw light will be lit for new messages...to the enduser it pretty seamless...
