Problems with Win98 client 2

I've got a problem with Win98 client. I've shared directories on my NT Server 4.0, but some of these can't be seen by all the Win 98 clients. I need to make this on each Win 98 client.
Start -> Run -> "\\MyServer\Document".
Now the directory is visible by the Win 98 client.
Which can be the problem anh how can i solve it?????

Do you have a domain set up, or is this a workgroup? Do you have the Guest account enabled on the Server?

Are all of your Win98 clients configured to be in (and log on to) the server's domain? Are all the clients running the right protocol? Are all the clients in the same local subnet as the server, or are some on the other side of a router or switch? What error message are you getting?

I don't have an error, when I login (from Network NeighBorhood) to NT Server 4.0 from a Win98 Client i don't see all the shared directories that instead i see from an Nt 4.0 Workstation.
I have to do as I say in my first message:
Start -> Run -> "\\MyServer\Document".
Now the directory (Document) is visible by the Win 98 client.
Which can be the problem anh how can i solve it?????

Does the network have multiple subnets, and are you using WINS?

Could the solution be as simple as renaming your shares to something 8 characters or below. It might be stupid but worth a try. Also I've found that using no spaces when naming shares for a win98 client helps a great deal.

ShackDaddy has nailed it right on, you need to install WINS Services or you can modify your LMHOSTS file
and reboot your win98 computer,

if that doesn't work, re-install your tcp/ip protocol

are you using DHCP or static ?

RJBJ got the right answer : win9X client can't see folders with share name longer than 8 caracters. By precaution, forget the use of space(substitute it by the underscore), extended caracters...
