NBU Gurus,

I am getting this error when ejecting tapes using vault menu:
========================
Selection--> 6
Starting the operation...
cannot open consolidation file /usr/openv/netbackup/vault/sessions/vlteject.mstr
Exit error: file open failed
EXIT status = 12
Failure executing "/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/vlteject" -vault Vault -sessionid 21
The operation has completed.
==========================

Any ideas on what is going on and how to prevent this?

Is "Vault" the name of your vaultrun and profile?

Does the vlteject.mstr file exist? or is it locked?

It is an ASCII file and can be edited, carefully. I've found that the situation you describe occurs generally after an eject error and the file does not get released.

Hope it helps..

Thanks for the reply.

I have:
Vault Name: Vault
Vault Policy: Vault_Originals_Rob0
Vault Profile: Originals_Rob0
vltrun Originals_Rob0

Vault Name: Vault1
Vault Policy: Vault_Originals_Rob1
Vault Profile: Originals_Rob1
vltrun Originals_Rob1

The vlteject.mstr file does exist. It is getting appended to each day with data from each vault. Example:

1/Vault1/Originals_Rob1|48|1102349619|0||...email addresses...|/usr/openv/netbackup/reports

0/Vault/Originals_Rob0|262|1102349368|0||...email addresses...|/usr/openv/netbackup/reports

Any help you can lend is appreciated.

Looking at what you supplied, Vault1 -sessionid 48 and Vault -sessionid 262 have not been ejected either.

Are you experiencing this problem with ALL your eject processes or just the the one for -sessionid 21?

If it is just 21 look for the entry in your vlteject.mstr file. Is there an entry? If so, post it.

You can also issue the vlteject command outside of vltoptmenu. A plain "vlteject" cmd will attempt to eject all pending profiles for all robots.

Thanks again for the reply.

All of the ejects have been failing sporadically. They actually worked today, but the reports did not run. Session 21 is not listed in the vlteject.mstr file.

The reports have failed to run for the last few weeks. The log file for today shows:

12:47:01.949 [8703] <16> vltopmenu: executeCmd: Failure executing "/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/vlteject" -vault Vault -sessionid 264 -report -dest /usr/openv/netbackup/vault/sessions/temp/report_dest.8703

12:47:01.949 [8703] <16> executeCmd: Failure executing vlteject result = 3072

13:02:54.933 [8875] <16> vltopmenu: executeCmd: Failure executing "/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/vlteject" -vault Vault1 -sessionid 50 -report -dest /usr/openv/netbackup/vault/sessions/temp/report_dest.8875

13:02:54.933 [8875] <16> executeCmd: Failure executing vlteject result = 64512

Any ideas?
