Hello all - I have aquired the management duties on a clients' phone system. We recently switched the client from twtelecom to cavalier. After making this switch the following issues occured:
1. No outside caller identification (internal station to station calls are identified still with the calling persons name as set in the system)
2. Long distance code is inactive and all users can dial freely to China if they so wish.
3. Some local calls are restricted on a limited number of sets.
4. A few users stated their voicemail doesn't pick up for either a internal call or from a caller calling in on DID.
5. Another caller seems to have been disconnected from her DID completely as no outside calls to her line ring to her.

I know that is a lot of items but any help you can provide me will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!!

1. No outside caller identification (internal station to station calls are identified still with the calling persons name as set in the system)

Call the new carrier and tell them to program their switch to allow your outbound caller ID to pass thru.

2. Long distance code is inactive and all users can dial freely to China if they so wish.

Call the new carrier and tell them you need account codes added.
3. Some local calls are restricted on a limited number of sets.

Did these calls work before the switch? If so it's not your problem unless something in LCR was changed.

4. A few users stated their voicemail doesn't pick up for either a internal call or from a caller calling in on DID.

Has nothing to do with the change to the new carrier. Tell them to reforward their phone to voice mail.

5. Another caller seems to have been disconnected from her DID completely as no outside calls to her line ring to her.

Call the new carrier and make sure that DID number was ported from TW Telecom to them.

Thanks for your suggestions... The cutover tech said he could handle most of these! Thanks again.
