Problems with SMS install

I'm going through the install of SMS 2003 on a Windows 2003 member server.

Right now I'm on the screen that says...

"Waiting for the Windows user account database to be synchronized..."

It's been on this screen for 45 minutes....

What's wrong!?!?!

My problem was that I was using an IP address, instead of Netbios names, during the install.

Use Netbios names and the install goes fine.

What happens is during the SMS install, it creates client and server connection accounts. It randomly assigns them passwords. I am certain that those passwords do not meet the password complexity requirements. This link will show you have to specify what accounts and passwords to use so the SMS install will not try to create its own. Try it. I bet it will work.
