Hello All,
I am having e-mail issues. I do not think that it is e-mail client related. When I go to do a "Send/Receive" in Microsoft Outlook, I receive a mail error, which informs me that the POP3 mail server cannot be located, then it has a box that lists the mail server as mail.companyname.
This is the puzzling thing. Everyone else in my comapny can receive e-mail. I can also see the network drives, so that means that I am networked; just cannot use any e-mail client program (we also tried to use Eudora with the same result) or use the Internet.
But wait, the plot thickens...
Yes, I can't use the Internet BUT if I type type the IP address, I can view the site. For example, if I type in the IP address of google, the site appears. However, if I type in the domain name ( I receive a "page cannot be found error."
I think that the mail issue is tied to the Internet issue (both went down at the same time). Right now, I am using another workstation but would like to fix mine.
BACKGROUND: A few weeks back, my Norton e-mail tracker alerted me that a virus was being sent to me. Well, the program deleted the virus (Klez_H) but somehow the message stil apeared in my Inbox. So I deleted it as well.
I don't know if this issue is virus related but it very well may be.
Does anyone have any ideas?
