I've got columns containing labels : -
Alpha, Beta, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot and Golf.
Rows are some 2000 lines filled with data.

I've created a pivot table, and selected the following: -

Column Labels = Golf
Row Labels = Charlie
Values = Count of Golf

So what I have in the pivot table is this: -

Count of Golf Column Labels
Row Labels vvv www xxx (blank) Grand Total
yyy 10 6 1151 1167
zzz 1 901 902
(blank)
Grand Total 10 7 2052 2069

What I can't work out is why there is no count total in (blank) when I have 121 'Blank' cells in column Golf.
I proved I have blank cells, as I can filter on Column Golf and remove select all, and tick (blanks).

Can someone point out where I'm missing something please.

Hi MearMortal,

The count function will not include truly blank cells.

One possible work around: use find/replace to put a Zero in all the blank cells. If you want the cells to still appear blank, set the format to "#."

Hope this helps!

I find it interesting because it used to work fine in Excel 2003.
