Problems with Partech POS interfacing with DVR

Hi all. I am a security engineer and have a question about integrating a Partech POS system and a Epson printer Model number TM-T88iv which is a printer powered by USB. The system that was inplace before was set up to listen to the old serial printer and convert the data to ASCII code which was then looped through a camera over laying the text over the video. We were using VSI-PRO the link to the device is here:

On the new system there are unfortunatly no COM ports on the POS just a few USB ports including 2 powered USB ports at 12 and 24volts.

thats the link to the pos terminal specs. Any input would be greatly appriciated. Im most definatly lost with this new system. I have contacted both the manufacturer of the POS and VSI to some avail but i am hoping to get a new view from one of you here.

Find out exactly what software they are running. I did not know that Partech had a software, I only knew of hardware. Most softwares will broadcast on a paticular port number and you can capture from the network and move it into your text area if the CCTV software.
Otherwise get a usb to serial adapter, put in a serial printer, splice in your text capture device, and maybe that might work.

Sub shop 2000 is the software. This is for a Subway shop. Basically i am thinking the usb to serial is the most viable option that we have seeing as the adapter can be configured to a specific COM port. Next would be a RJ45 to serial adapter.
Can you explain the broadcasting over the network and the port number? I wasnt aware that POS systems did much over the network?

Using Aloha software as an example. It has an area in its back office software for me to tell the software to broadcast the needed information on port 3999. Using Gulf Coast DVR software I can tell it to listen on port 3999 and it works. I don't know the code level logistics of it, but it is kind of like a network administrator monitorinig port 81 for internet usage.
You will have to check with Sub Shop 2000 to see if this is an available feature, and if it is, they may provide you with the SDK to enhance your DVR solutions.

I dont know about the Sub shop having that ability but I dont think the DVR onsite is capable of doing that unfortunatly. I have never set up a POS monitoring system over the network before, we have always just used serial connections. Thanks though.
