I have a customer with norstar MICS RLS. DR5 software with 2 answering postions M7324 with 1- cap module each. Every now and then the cap modules will loose all there memory and have to be reprogrammed. The -24 power supplies are on battery backup and the system as well. Has anyone had this problem before?

Plenty of times have I had to reprogram the CAP module due to power outages for long periods of time, or the fact that the CAP was bad and needed replacement.
Sometimes I experience the opposite, the CAP module retaining all of its button programming....cant tell you why that is though.

The CAP stores its programming internally which is maintained by a memory capacitor. If this capacitor has gone bad then the CAP's button assignments will be defaulted any time power is lost.
