Problems with Multiple MX Records

We have noticed that many sites that have multiple MX records in their DNS have started refusing connections on the server listed in their main MX record. When this happens, isn't Exchange supposed to try and deliver to the server listed in their secondary MX record(s)?

When we have an email bounce back as undeliverable, we do an email validation at and 99% of the time their main email server is refusing connections or is down, but the secondary servers are up just fine. We are then having to create new connectors to FORCE our Exchange server to deliver through their secondary server.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Larry

Call Microsoft Support Services and they'll send you a patch. This is a confirmed bug and you will be refunded the support cost.

Thanks Filthpig, I will try that. I've been searching for something in the forums and support sites for a couple of weeks now and finally decided to post.

Support is part of our EA with Microsoft so it shouldn't be hard to get this fixed if it's just needing a patch.

Thanks again,
Larry

Microsoft was just as stumped as everyone else. We finally gave up and let them store the incident in their files in case a fix ever arises, but I'm not holding my breath.
