Hey there,

I have a citrix metaframe XPa feature release 2 sollution based on two windows 2000 servers. I am running outlook, office 2003 and inter explorer 6.0. My problem is that when a user already have an ie browser window open and reciving a mail that includes a link to a web-site and tries to start this with clicking on the hyperlinks it will not open a second ie browser window.

I have to close down the already open ie browser and then click on the hyperlink in the mail. Then it works. Can someone please help me with this problem.

Are you saying that the new window will not open, or that the new windows takes over the already existing IE instance.

If it is taking over the open one, try to change the settings in the:

Tools / Internet Options / Advanced / Browsing / ReUse Windows for Internet shortcuts

Since this is on a Citrix Server, make sure you do a CHANGE USER /INSTALL before making the change so it takes place for all users.

What I am saying is that it will not open a new browser. I can open a browser from the desktop, but it will not open when i click the hyperlink i the mail.

I have the same problem and it is driving me crazy trying to find the fix. No mater how the message is sent to me, hyperlinks in the email do not open the browser even though I receive the email in HTML format.

Solved!

I clicked on on "Tools | Programs | Reset Web Settings" and then restarted the computer. I reset my home page to where it was before I reset the Web Settings and Outlook performed perfectly. My undertstanding from the Microsoft site is that for some reason a specific registry setting was not in place.
