Can anyone help me get Java 2 SDK installed? I'm running NT and I went to and followed the instructions to setting the path but I still get:

The name specified is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

When I try to compile something. For example javac example.java

I do get the verson when I put in java -version.

Both the system and user variables paths are set to C:\j2re1.4.0_02\bin.

Thanks in advance.

Very frustrated with this.

AJ
I would lose my head if it wasn't attached. [roll1]

The problem is that you're setting your path to the JRE which doesn't include the JavaC compiler.

You need to install the SDK and set your path there instead.

That was it thanks AJ
