Hi

I have a Exchange server 2000.
I have three domain mails configured on this server.
It was working fine for 1 yr.
recently i have been having problems
Most of my incomming mails on one domain are failing for some reason.

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.
Delivery to the following recipients failed.

This does not happen always. it is very irregular.
It works for 10 min then for next 1hr it gives this error.
then it works for 1 whole day and next day it gives error.
it is not a regular pattern.

I have checked the dns. it is fine.
I have checked smtp setting. (anonymous is checked)
i have created receptient policies for all domains.

sad part is the response is unpredictable.
I am not able to troubleshoot. when i do a change of any setting and when i send a mail thru hotmail or any other account it gives same error as above.

So if somebody could give me a idea of why this is happening.

I had a fractional T1 384 for last one yr.
I shifted the Mailserver to a dsl now 756/128 with static.

pls guy & gals. help me..

Do you get a bounce back on Hotmail with a specific error number like 5.1.1?

This is a good place to start to try to determine if it is your ISP or an internal problem.

Have you tried dialling into your mailbox on your ISP and manually creating a mail using Telnet? If you can send it to sareen@wigtest.com, this works as an auto responder and is a handy way of testing whether you can send & receive.

Also Exchange 2000, have you got all the service packs?

Just some things to look at..

Graeme.
