Hi all,

I have a problem with an installation we made on a costumer and we are unable to make it work correctly. The costumer have a S8700 installed, and we just added Intuity to the system. Till that point all is correct, ip conectivity between the CLAN and Intuity is ok (we conected em thru a crossover cable), and even when we plug a analog phone to the analog line circuit pack where the 4 extensions of Intuity are conected, and call the Audix huntgroup, we can collect messages and all works great.
The problem comes when we try to collect messages from an IP-Phone in the system, the Audix extension wont recognize the DTMF tones from the IP-Phone. We tried all the options you have in the system-parameters ip-options screen where u select in-band, in-band G711, out of band, rtp... and no matter which option we select, is imposible for us to make it work from a IP-Phone. We using 4610 phones and i checked avaya firmwares for this model and they dont solve this matter (afaik)...
We solve the problem when we add a new incoming route in the incoming call handling screen in a trunk... the call is routed to the Audix huntgroup and when we call from a IP-Phone to the external number (goes out thru a DS1) it will be able to collect messages and Audix will recieve correctly those DTMF tones.

Can anyone give me any hint about this becuase we tried all... and im out of ideas...

Thx in advance

pbayona69,

what cm software release are you running?

pbayona69,

Try to use G.729 or G.711A/Mu codec for IP phone 4610

You need to change the "Intra-System IP DTMF Transmission Mode" (on page 2 of System Parameters/IP-Options form) to "rtp-payload". IP connected phones, trunks, and port networks may experience distored DTMF audio otherwise. This will pass the DTMF as a data payload embedded in the RTP packet. Also note that if you have fax machines connected via IP trunks or IP-connected port networks, then you may experience similar troubles with fax transmissions being distorted. Basically the problem is the same as the DTMF issue, and can be remedied changing the fax transmission mode to "relay" on the second page of the IP-Codec-Set form.

Hope this helps!

Sorry...I just realized that you have tried the rtp-payload setting. Are these IP phones native to the same switch as the one that Audix is on? If there are two switches involved (IP trunking) then both switches will need the rtp-payload set on both. Also, I would make sure that all the MedPro firmwares are up to date with the latest version.

Are you traversing a WAN with these IP phones? If so, what happens if you test with the IP phone locally on the same subnet as the switch, without going through a router, etc?

Thanks for the replies so far RFwatts... the problem occurs internally in the system.. I have conected the Intuity to the CLAN with a crossover cable (no switches between, just a direct conection).
So im getting the problem when i call from a phone plugged to a switch in the same net as one of the CLANS and IPMEDIAS (they have ip-network-regions configured correctly, etc...)... But if i try from a analog phone in the system, it would work correctly, so im only getting the error when trying from IP Phones.

Im out of ideas =/

pbayona69,

it seems to me that it's a bug in the software. i can't tell you exactly but i think i've seen a pcn for it.
anyway, contact avaya -- it's their bug and their responsibility.

Hi,

you should look what kind of analoge card you have which is connected to your intuity. If this is a TN2215 with vintage 10 till 12 then that is your problem.

I have this same problem, we have a TN2215 v17 Avaya are looking into the problem

Sorry for not replaying before...

Thx to ewaaijenberg, finally we had a V11 TN2215, replaced with new one and worked great.
