Problems with cookie variables

Hi all.

I'm having trouble with cookie variables not being set on remote computers in CF6.1.

Heres's what's goingon, hopefully someone could give some troubleshooting suggestions.

After installing CF6.1 as a evaluation copy at a customer site, I launched our application and everything seemed normal. I was viewing the program from the server machine with the address as

http://networkname/

not

http://127.0.0.1

once again everything was operating correctly.

However I recieved a call from the customer about 10 mins later reporting that the system was throwing an error after logging in from his laptop.

It looks like the server is not setting the cookie variables on remote machines. I reviewed the customers Internet options in IE 5.5 and he has cookies enabled. From his machine we were able to connect the the server with netmeeting and ran the program locally on the server with no problems. We tried logging into the program from another computer and the error still occurs.

Can anyone help me try to troubleshoot this issue?

make sure your not using cflocation on the same template that you set a cookie.

cookie does not actually get written untill the page reloads, but if you cflocation, the info gets wiped out.

The page where the cookies are set does not have a cflocation on it.

However I think the server is on a different domain from the other computers.

The application is being used on a Intranet and I have never experienced this before on other installations.

any other suggestions?

what was the error, was it a client side error, or a scripting error due the cookie not being set?
