I have created a full colour Ad for a magazine in Illustrator 9. This has then been saved as an .ai. The problem comes when i convert the text to outlines and then save as a version 8 .eps.
When this is opened again there are odd lines surrounding areas on the Ad. Basically it looks as if illustrator has sliced the ad up very much in the way Image ready etc slices pages for html.

Has anyone come across this b4? - If i save as v9 eps there is no problem but the publishers need version8.

Any help would be grand as it looks like a problem that is set to run and run
Cheers

These lines may be due to masking, transparency or gradients that are saved down to the lesser version of 8.

I agree. However, sometimes they are only noticable on screen, so get your printer to run off a proof first to see if it's ok.

Cheers guys - that did the trick - was the transparency and gradient that caused the problem - Great stuff
