Hello!
I have just begun to use ID CS (I use Windows2000) and after completing my first document I went to print it up, but the background color came out black instead of the blue it was supposed to be! However, I have my logo on top on a portion of a blue color and that came out as blue even though the logo itself is transparent.
On top of that, it is placing a white background on all the images I have that are supposed to have a transparent background (not including the logo).
I tried to even make it as a PDF.. and the images still have a white background to them, not to mention the color of the blue bg behind the logo is a lighter blue! I'm not sure where I went wrong, or if this is just my printer acting funny.

The way I made the images transparent was I just had them in Photoshop, changed their color mode to CMYK and deleted the bg layer so that it appears transparent.
I then 'placed' the images into the document.
I do know that when I try to set up my printing configurations it will only let me select RGB and Gray - no CMYK.

This is really confusing me, so if anyone has a solution to make these colors come out right, and have the images not have that blasted white bg, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

It is a Canon s300..

Really? You still have to create a clipping path either way? I have a picture that has a feathered edge though.. How would I go about taking care of that? By using an Alpha channel?

Actually, scap that, I did a couple of tests and it came out good.
Transparency works.

I think it's your printer, I think you need a PS Level 3 printer to be able to output transparency.

Do a quick search in this thread for transparency...
