problems with cdrecord working on SCO 5.05

OS: SCO 5.0.5

I am having problem using the cdrecord program with this version of SCO. When I try to run the cdrecord program, the PC is totally locked up I can't even open another session to see whats going on. When I run cdrecord -scanbus I get the following:

0,0,0
0,1,0 'My cd' 'model number'

I checked the /etc/conf/cf.d/mscsi file and it has the correct information

Wd Srom 0 1 0 0

I made sure I edited the paths in the .profile to include the /usr/local/bin directory.

What am I missing here? Any suggestions anyone could provide would be great.
