Hardware used: FIC AZ11 motherboard; AMD DURON650; Velocity 4400 PCI video card; 250w Power supply. 64MB PC100 RAM. Currently that is all that is connected. The problem is no POST and no video. The monitor comes on, but immediately goes into sleep mode. There is no other action present, well accept the Power Supply fan, the CPU fan and the HDD LED are all on. Any suggestions?

It sounds like the power supply. It is either bad or it needs more. I recommend either returning the case for a 300w or replacing the current power supply. If you have a digital voltimeter you could try testing the power connector to see if it is sufficiently powering the board.

WOW....You guys are great. I just wanted to say THANKS to everyone for their input. I will let you know soon on the status of that project. I have been bogged down with other projects while waiting for the new 300w ps and also I'm going to try PC133 memory instead of the PC100. I had this machine up and running, but it didn't stay up long after loading applications and such. Went right back into the very first problem ie no video, no POST, no nuttin'....
SO my tech support for the tech support has the machine now and we will see what he can do. Once again thanks and if you can think of anything else please let me know. [sig][/sig]

Latest update on this project. IT"S UP AND RUNNING!! I put in the 300w power supply and changed the memory to PC133. Then I rechecked all the jumpers. Well the front end bus can be set for 100 or 133. The board was marked backwards or something, because as soon as I changed to what is marked 133 everything has been running fine. Or it could be that it was the PC133 that finally made the thing go. Anyway thanks for your help. I'm starting a new computer using the Duron with a gigabyte motherboard. This should be interesting, too. [sig][/sig]
