Problems with AS2000 and Compaq 20/40 Autoloader

Hello,

We have had a reccuring problem with Arcserve 2000 backups for weeks.

We have a Compaq Proliant 3000R server, running Windows NT 4.0 SP6

1)We have replaced our Compaq StorageWorks 20/40GB DDS4 External Autoloader,Firmware 5.08, with the same one recently, attached to the External SCSI port of the Compaq Proliant 3000 server.

2)We have re-installed Arcserve 2000 with SP4
Applied patch, QO27941.CAZ

3) We still get following errors in the Activity Log:

E6300 Windows NT SCSI Port error
E6096 Media Error
E8020 Failed to inventory slots

Thanks for any suggestions you may have to slove it.

Check and update the firmware on the hardware as these are hardware errors.

If that fails I would then check the SCSI cables and ensure they are terminated

I had same problem and help me change the driver on host adapter .
How many device is connect?
