Problems with AA transfer to operator 1

when a call is placed to my AA, and the operator option is selected a message saying operator is unavailable is played and the call is sent to the general delivery mailbox. I think I don't have an operator ext., how do I fix this?

What Telephone System and Voicemail do you have? I'm thinking that it is a Flash and if that's the case, let me know and I'll tell you how to assign the attendant.
 
I have a norstar modular ics, and I'm not sure about the voice mail, it may be a flash.
 
Use Operator Status feature (F982) to set status for Answer Lines, Attendant Avail, Business Open/Closed, and Attendant DN. If Attendant Avail is set to 'N', you will get that message and the call will be sent to the attendants mailbox. Probably General Delivery
 
Also make sure an operator is assigned in your table programming.
