I finally got my ghost boot disks to work ok with the serveraid 51 and raid1.

What I need to do is boot to ghost and get image off of CD because my target machines are in a remote location without a very fast connection back to corporate.

When we boot to dos we can see the CD in DOS and see the image file.

In Ghost, we can browse the CD but it does not 'see' any image file.

I have tried generic CD drivers as well as ibmidecd.sys without any luck. We have verified that the image CDs can be read in a couple of other desktop pcs just to verify and no problem.

Anyone else see this? I can get images off the server and as a fallback I guess I could install Ghost Server on my laptop but would rather get the CDs to work.

Follow up to my own post-

I was using Ghost 7.5 in the above examples but for the heck of it, I tried 7.0 which seemed to be able to read the images but report them as corrupt. I suspect that there was enough difference between 7.0 and 7.5 that there is a problem.

I am going to create the image using the 7.0 boot disk and see what happens.

I would still like to solve the issue for the 7.5 version...ck

The problem may be that ghost is trying to expand the image and can not due to it being on a CD. If the image was created on a CD the problem may go away.

I would suggest copy the image to a network drive that it can be pulled from and expanded.
