Hi

We currently have an Access database which consists of alot of queries and reports and a form from which users can modify the criteria (dates, officers etc) for each report. This has been working very well, however, as this database is being used by more and more people the administrator of the database is becoming increasing frustrated because she finds that she can't amend or create any new reports because there is always someone using the database and she can't get exclusive rights.

I have tried to split the database into a front end and back end but this still doesn't seem to work. Any ideas of where am I going wrong?

Thanks

What happens? Do you get errors when you attempt to split the database?

[small]No! No! You're not thinking ... you're only being logical.

No the split works fine and we have the tables in one database and the queries and reports in an another - its just we don't get exclusive access still. At the moment both are on the shared network drive - if I put the front end on the local machine will everyone still access the same reports etc?
