I have just upgraded an application that our company wrote from RDO to ADO. The application is a VB front end to a SQL server 7.o database. There are only 4 clients that connect to the machine so the number of users is very low.

The problem is, since I have re-written the application to use ADO rather than the old RDO I am now getting lots of 424 object not found errors.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is or what I can do to stop this? Will installing SP 4 resolve this issue?

P.S The application runs fine on our development network so it is not our coding!!!

Thanks for your help

I believe error 424 is a VB error code rather than a SQL. Do the clients have the required MDAC insalled?

You might try posting this question in a VB forum. Terry L. Broadbent - DBA

OK thanks for your help. Yes the clients are running MDAC 2.5

I will try the VB forum

Thanks again for your help

Yes Terry could be right. Have created a new installation package for the clients?.

Yes a new install package was created but some of the objects didnt register and so some needed to be done by hand.

I now understand that this is the wrong forum, but we even installed VB onto the client machine to ensure that the files we needed were on there and registered.

Still no luck!!!
