I am running Outlook 2000 as my E-Mail client under Exchange 2000. I am unable to send E-Mail to addresses outside the business domain. Internally, I can send and recieve fine, but externally I can only recieve. Any suggestions where to begin?

Is this something that just started happening? In exchange manager, under the server and the protocols folder you will see the smtp virtual server. If there is an X on it it is stopped. Right click it and start it. If that's not the case right click that and check the properties. Try doing a nslookup from the server and see if it can resolve any external domains. If not the problem is DNS. Need more info to help you more but that should steer you in the right direction.

If the Virtual Server was stopped no mail would flow :)

I agree check DNS and also that you can telnet to port 25 on the returned entries. Dan
