Hello all,

im a brand new user here, so its nice to be here..

Right my problem..

I am running Arcserve 2000 V7 (Build 1018) on a server running Win2k SP4.. when i logon using the Domain admin account locally on the server i can run restores no problems.. but when i login using remote Desktop again as the domain admin, i cannot run restores.. it will allow me to setup a restore and press to run now, but nothing happens.. i can also set them up to run at a later time, and again they dont run.. however once i login locally to the server it will allow backups to run with no problem..

this wasent a big problem before, but i have to move the server running arcserve to another building, and wont be up there much, i would need to be able to run restores remotely..

Thanks very much for reading, i hope i have given enough info

Give the user full rights to the ARCserve directories and share.

Hi again,

I gave full access to the user that i login remotely as, ans also to terminal server user too, but still cannot run restores remotely..

the job goes all the way to the job schedule window, but just remains with the status of "ready"

anyone ?

Double check the owner of your job in the Brightstor Manager Job Queue. We had problems restoring remotely and for whatever reason the job owner was not the admin ID we expected it to be, but it was a local user that didn't have the rights.

sorry for being stupid, but where is the Brightstor Manager Job Queue? im kinda lost here :(

When you open Brightstor, on the Job status page you will have your Job queue that lists the jobs that you have scheduled to run. select your job and scroll over until you find the column that lists the owners of your jobs. They might not necessarily be all the same.
