Please, i am currently experiencing problems executing
some Clipper Legacy applications on Windows NT. I keep
getting the "Runtime R6003 error - integer divide by 0".

Is there anyone who could help out in resolving this
problem? My job is on the line. Please help URGENTLY!

Thanks

Circes9,

Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately, the problem still
persists. Please help me out!

Thanks & Best Regards.

If it's very urgent and you need a temporary quick fix, and you still haven't managed to resolve the problem with the __WAIT.OBJ help mentioned eariler, there is another solution.

Go to and download their workstation 3.x virtual machine.

Run it, install Windows 98 operating system, then load and run your legacy programs under the 98 OS. You will be given a temporary key lasting one month, which may give you enough time to sort out the original problem.

VMs can work as independant machines with their own IPs using a bridge to connect to your network, or on a private network created on the host computer.

Hope this helps.

Scal,

Thanks for your mail.
It is illegal to run Win 98 on my network.
Do i have a chance to run it on Windows NT?

Here are some other things I would check out...

Does the Clipper app run without this error on a non-NT PC?

Has this particular app been changed recently? If so, does an earlier version exhibit this problem?

Can you compile and link a new, simplier Clipper test program and run it without this type of problem?

Has the problematic app run successfully under NT before and now does not?

Have you upgraded to faster hardware recently?

Circes9,

Thanks for your response. I can't express how much i
appreciate your assistance so far.

The Clipper apps have NEVER been successfully executed on
Windows NT.

The Clipper apps are executable on DOS machines and Netware
machines i.e on Worksation and Server respectively.

Two things have changed.

1. We've changed the hardware 1.e from 80486 to pentium IV
2. The OS has changed from DOS/Netware to Windows NT.

The intention is to run the clipper apps "as is" on Windows
NT without code changes or MINIMAL code changes.

Please help!

glad to be of help...
two things have changed... your OS and the hardware, with a much faster clock speed. Chances are your problem may be with the faster processor, not NT.

If you have the source code, LNK file, etc for your application, to fix this isnt a really big task.

Suggest you email me directly at circes9@excite.com with the following info:
Version of Clipper you are using
what Linker
what version of Novell requester (assuming your still using the Novell server)
send me your .lnk file
and I'll get back to you

Circes9,

Thanks for your help so far.

I await your suggestions.

Thanks & Best Regards,
