I have a windows 2000 workstation. I installed Brightstor Manager on the workstation and I can't login into the manager. It's telling me to add the server to the host file, or ping the server or check name/ip. I have this server in the host file and I can ping this server. This is a Novell shop and we're using Brightstor for Netware. I'm using a 2000 workstation to manage the jobs status. I have it install on two workstation and this workstation is not working. Did I miss something?

I'm having the same problem off and on with my BrightStor v9 installation on NetWare 5.1 sp6. I have version 7 working tho and never get that error. You have to add the name and IP on both the servers hosts file and the workstations hosts file.

If I get a resolution to my v9 problem, I will update this, since it may help you also.

Is the Discovery Service running on both systems?
The Discovery Service should find the other system and make a Registry entry under the DiscoveryTable key. It should list the server along with the options installed. Actualy this can be exported from one system and imported into the other. However next time the Discovery Service starts a scan if it does not see the system it will remove it from the table. If the systems are discovered already the Discovery Service does not need to be running.
