Hi there,

About a week ago I was doing the rounds installing the phone manager software on all the pc's on site. Some are XP some are Vista. They all went on fine until I reached the final PC (Which happened to be the MD's).

He has a Sony Vaio laptop running Vista. I tried installed the latest version with no luck, it just completely stalls at the very start of the install, same with all previous versions. I then tried installed Manager and the same happened.

He is running Norton Systemworks and Internet Security and I've tried completely disabling these, tried using msconfig to take them from the startup and all sorts and it still will not install.

Does anyone have any ideas what this could be? He is a computer Administrator and just to make sure I've made another account as an admin but this still doesn't work.

Many thanks,

Adam

use ccleaner.com to completely remove traces of the failed install. delete the my documents/avaya folder and try again.

do you have 64 bit Vista or 32 bit?

I dont know if this will help but back a few years ago every time you went to install WINSPM on a laptop it would just stop. What i would do is open the task manager and start killing off processes that were not needed then the install would fly thru. you may want to try something like this. maybe sony has something that is preventing it from installing.

Did you try to run pmpSetup.exe from the pmp directory instead of the setup.exe from the root?

Escorthosis is right
If the normal setup does not work (for whatever reason) then you should use the setup for phonemanager or softconsole (the one you need)
I had it a phew times and could not get it installed the normal way
