While attempting to install a patch, I get the following message: ""One or more patch packages included in 106787-17 are not installed on this system."

This patch consists of four packages, SUNWmibii, SUNWsacom, SUNWsadmi, and SUNWsasnm. Before I tried to install this patch, I did a pkginfo | grep on each of them and the system says they are installed!

I've redownloaded the patch twice from Sun and I've tried to install it on three different machines (making sure the required operating system is the same). I still end up with the same result, it won't install.

Folks, I'm desperate here - can anyone help?

Thanks much, in advance!

I think the only help I can give is to let you know that you're not insane and that others are seeing this! :)

I posted the other message about the SNMP patchadd problem and I'm seeing the exact same situation you are... Hopefully someone can shed some light on this soon!

Thanks for the words of encouragement, I did think I was going nuts there for awhile! I've discovered a few more things that, hopefully, will make a difference although I don't have a fix yet.

I've installed the SNMP patch on a Solaris 8 machine (patch 108869-15) and on a Solaris 7 machine (patch 107709-18) and guess what - THEY INSTALLED PERFECTLY!

Forgot to mention: having these problems with Solaris 2.6.

bgeiger, I called Sun and got a solution. Please post your thread number and I'll post the solution in your thread. Otherwise, let me know and I'll create a new thread here and post it.

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the offer -- especially if you have a solution! I'm new here and not sure what you mean by my "thread number"

I posted a couple of threads ago under "SNMP patch problem"

Thanks!
