Problems Installing ALSA, Linux newbie

ok here's my problem
I've just recnetly installed Redhat 8.0 on my machine and although linux has detected my sound card correctly the sound system doesnt work, so right now i'm trying to install ALSA on my machine but I get the following error when I enter "make". This is to install
ALSA (Sound Drivers)...

I appreciate if anybody can help me with this problem.
 
There is a Red Hat 8.0 build of Alsa Player already available, meaning that you don't necessarily have to build it if you don't want to.

However, based on the information you've shared so far, I am not sure that Alsa Player will fix your problem.

Red Hat 8.0 is the best version of desktop Linux I've used, but it is also the most "multimedia challenged" version because Red Hat felt the need to deactivate or change key features that support things like streaming media.

If you go into the control center, click on the "sound" icon, there are two checkboxes that will enable the sound server at startup and enable sound on events.

Then go to this URL for information on enabling certain features for Red Hat 8.0:
