(WINDOWS XP HOME-JUNO DIAL UP)I have been having intermittent problems getting on the net. Usually it says site found trying to connect, but never does. Just a white screen on IE. I can still go to Outlook Express though. This has been happening for about 1 week, re-registered dll files and deleted winsock after exporting. Problem was ok for a day then returned. Occasionally I get a Tmntsrv.exe problem and needs to close error message. I created a restore point when stable and when I restore it's ok for a while. Appreciate any advice- here is the Hijack logfile- I noticed a few BHO's- should they go??

Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7

The BHO's are fine. You are mostly clean. Have Hijack This fix these entries:

Thanks for the response. Actually I have been able to cure the problem by uninstalling the Google companion toolbar. Everything has been ok since then. There fore I'll make no other changes as I believe in "if it ani't broke, don't fix it".
Thanks for the input.

I agree with you, if it is not broken it does not need any more fixing.

For future reference, there is still a lot of "junk" as shown by your original Hijack posting. The Google toolbar is relatively benign as browser helpers go, but anything can happen when you have so many others installed.

At some point, play with this issue again but with a different tool set.

ownload and run in this order:

cwshredder *
SpyBot 1.2 *
AdAware *

* = Update the definition files within the program as the first step.

Thanks for the advice. I agree, unexpectd things can happen from time to time. I've already run Spybot and Adaware. I will download and run cwshredder.
