problems converting version 10 to 8

I have adobe illustrator 10 running xp pro. I need to save a .eps file to illustrator 8 but everytime I choose version 8.0 from the pull down menu and select ok then yes nothing happens. file doesnt save, no error messages either. any ideas?

Try doing a save as.
also for some reason sometimes Illustrator 10 does not like to resave a file in the same folder.

hi there i got a huge problem
i need to save an AI 10 eps file to
an AI 8 eps file but nothing happens
when i save (save as or save copy or whatever doesn't work either) i think it has something to do with the flattening of the transparencie because that doesn't even work :S
plz could somebody plz help i really need this problem solved

If you'd post the file on a website (the .ai file) I'll take a look, otherwise, it would be difficult to troubleshoot anything like that at a distance. I personally haven't had the problem... but I imagine it DOES have to do with incompatible features.
