I have some serious network problems that I like to get fixed. My parents want me to set up a homenetwork with our home computer (AMD Duron 700, running Windows ME) and the portable (Intel 1000, running Windows 98SE).
I installed two network cards in the 'mama'computer, a Realtek 10Mb to access the internet and a National Semiconductor fast ethernet adapter to connect to the homenetwork. The 'baby'(portable) has a SIS fast ethernet adapter.
to connect I use a cross-over UTP cable.
I installed internet connection sharing on the mama, but I can't get the network working. They both find theirselves (ping 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.0.0) but can't communicate.
I've tried really everything: setup manually, removing everything and setting up via the ICS wizard, Programs from internet, ... all without any succes.
It's really driving me crazy, 'cause my parents keep nagging about that network. WHAT DO I DO WRONG???
