problems after F disk 1

Hi after reformatting a hard drive and performing a clean install of win 98, I then restart the pc but it keeps giving me the windows 98 set up page asking to start with or without cd rom etc everytime. I have changed the boot order to hard disk first but it keeps asking the same thing. also it checks for afloppy then fail retry abort but only after it goes through the sequence after selecting start with or without cd rom will it go into windows.. Its very frustrating but none of my other machines have done this in the past. What can I do to prevent this.

Sorry, for some reason I'm drawing a blank here... What exactly does the message you are getting say? And this is before the windows splash screen, or after?

Your config.sys and autoexec.bat from the boot floppy have been transferred somehow to the hard drive.
It is a matter of editing them to take out the commands that you don't need.
