Hi there everyone... My father has recently had broadband installed into his home. He has a laptop so he decided to go for the wireless router option. His laptop has a wireless network card installed. I followed the instructions that came with the router to set everything up. I couldn't get an internet connection so I thought that his line hadn't been ADSL activated yet. However, I tried using a dial up modem and it worked perfectly proving this theory wrong.

I have managed to get his router working fine through ethernet cable. His wireless connects to the router eventually but we cannot get an internet connection. It has connected when its been left for about 10 minutes but as soon as you restart the machine its back to square one. I have tried everything I can think of to solve this and I think there is some 'interference' somewhere.

There is a button on the router you can press, I have pressed this and on a couple of occasions it has made the telephone ring. This to me is very strange. Can anyone shine any light on this for me as it is really bugging me now? Thanks

problem now solved... i changed the channel in the router settings, it seems there was something else in the house probably using the same frequency causing the interferance. thanks

Yeah Wireless phones left off there station and microwaves can cause major problems sometimes or maybe even a neighbour with the same channel setup that has his network hiden.
