Bit of a strange one...A large number of icons on the desktop have the Recycle bin icon 'superimposed' on them. If you change the icon the new one has the same problem. I've tried using the set default option in Display settings and also running a virus check on the PC. I've even tried replacing the shell32.dll file with one from another 2000 pc...any ideas????

Are you running SP4? There seems to be a problem with shadowing that I've noticed. If you are, try uninstalling it and see if the problem corrects.

hope this helps,

Corie

Hiya thanks for this, I actually managed to fix it by running the 2000 repair options from the CD (again!) After reinstalling the Windows Installer it worked fine!
