Hello.

I have a problem with one of my Clients. We have done a upgrade on a client from Winnt4 to W2000, and reinstalled Networker 6.1.3. The trouble is when I tried to backup the Client, I've get this errormess: save Errror Client not Registred. But When I look in networker server under Client, Client Information it says "enabler in use".
What have I done wrong? Is it a problem with the licensing?

The Networker Server runs W2K och Networker 6.1.3 and the struggling client runs W2K and Networker 6.1.3

Check in the servers file in nsr\res of the clietn. Ensure it lsits teh Networker server.

Hello and thanks, but is not that simple, I have check the servers file, trying to type in the whole domain adress´but nothing changes. The same error pops up in the logfile.

Edit the client resource and add all the names this client is known by in the alias field. That should sort it.

Hello.

I already tried that and I've run NSLookup and ping the domain alias and nothing seems to fail. My hair is turning gray. For me it looks like the license doesn't work. It is the same machine with the same name, ip, nic, and mac. Only the OS i changed.

HELP!!

In the client resource for that client, make sure you have the short name and the fully qualified domain name listed.

And just for good luck, add the i.p. address as well

Hello everybody and thanks for your respond. I have found what caused the problem. It was a misstyped domain name in the clients network settings.
