Problem with two date fields in same table

Hello

I'm working with a db that has a 'DateIn' field and a 'DateOut' field on the same tbl. They both have the default =Date(). The problem is that when the date in gets entered the date out also defaults to that same day. What I want to do is default the 'DateIn' through one frm and default the 'DateOut' on another frm at another time. Any sugestions would be most helpful.

Take the default out of the table fields and place it in the before update event of the form.
