I have a SQL 7 database that I am running on a local server. I am connecting into to it through my desktop using the MS Access Project feature inside MSAccess 2000. I can get in and connect to the database fine, and I can build object in the database (tables, views, procedures) but for some reason i can update or alter any of the records in my tables. If i create the table using the MSProject, then i can update the records, but if the table was imported or was built through the enterprise manager i can't touch the records.

I have checked the permissions inside the the enterprise manager of SQL server and i have all the permissions (insert, update, delete, select) For some reason i just can't figure out why i can't alter the records.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey,

I was wondering if you could find the solution to this problem. I am facing exactly the same situation.

Thanks in advance.

To edit record in SQL through ACCESS, The table you're editing records in MUST have a primary key AND, when you link to it, you must select it.
Set up a Primary Key in the table (in sql, not in Access), drop the linked table and re-link...
You'll be prompted to select a primary key field. Select the field that is the Primary. If you hit Cancel, you will not be able to edit records in that table.
