Hi guys,

My situation is pretty simple but hard to fix...
First, I have an old server A, which used to have SAVCE10 installed. Server A served all the workstations. The server were having problem so I had to uninstall SAVCE10 manually. After that, I installed SAVCE10 on a new server B.

Problem: When I try to move the clients (workstations) under Server B, not client shows under Server B after redeployment. Clients' virus definition won't update.
Attempts:
Redeploy clients without uninstalling the pervious install, no luck.
Copy GRC.dat to client. The SCS shows the server as Server B instead of Server A, but the clients are not listed under Server B in SSC.
Uninstalled SCS, and reinstall, still client is not listed under Server B and nowhere to be found; thus, VD is not updated.

Question:
What can I do to bring the clients back under Server B and receive VD updates?

All inputs are welcome!

hopefully you don't have many clients...

check the PKI certificate (C:\Program Files\Symantec Antivirus\pki\roots) folder and verify that the certificate is the same as the one on your new server (\\servername\VPHOME\CLT-INST\WIN32\pki\roots)

if it is different, replace and restart the Symantec Antivirus service on the client.

Contact symantec support and ask them for a utility called makedrop. It will assign all clients to the new server.
