i try to restart it unsuccessfuly.a windows error message appear.I try to uninstall the service and re-install it unsuccessfuly too. i don't want to re-install W2K...Perhaps there is a solution through the registry...
thank for help.

I am having the same problem. The service will start and stop but is not functioning correctly. The option to disable does not work, and the problem seems to deteriorate... Very weird. If anyone has any insight please post.

Thanx

Have you tried re-booting the servers? Do you have any error messages in the event logs? Try
and see if anything in there helps. Glen A. Johnson

In my case I get no errors logged. It is almost as if the MMC is broken. I re-installed the adminpak but no luck. Yes I have re-booted. This is the weirdest windows problem I have ever seen. The history is:

Windows 2000 AS SP3
PIII 1.26GHz
2GB RAM

The machine has been running smooth for almost a year. I set up RRAS as a VPN one day as a test. It worked fine, then I disabled RRAS via the MMC, which appeared to work correctly. Then a friend wanted to see how to set up VPN so I went into the MMC and POOF, the Enable and Configure option was gone off of the server tree object in the MMC. The option appears when I right click on the server object in the RRAS MMC Root window but is greyed out. The Disable option is there but doesn't appear to do anything but stop the service. At first I still had all of the interface, policy, port containers etc. under the server object but now those don't even show. Only the server object appears. I can start and stop the service without incident but RRAS does not work the way I had originally configured it.

I have scoured the net for a solution but nothing. Technet doesn't even have anything close.

Did the Microsoft link help at all? Glen A. Johnson

No, I saw that one in my search. It doesn't apply.

Thanks anyway.
