Problem with Remote FTP Access

I have an FTP site that was recently created and have set up the appropriate DNS records. I have one person that needs remote access to this site, but can't gain access. I gave him NTFS permissions Full Control, share permissions Full Control, and log on locally to this machine on the server. Annonymous Access is not allowed on this site. I can log on to this site from within the network and can post folders and files with his account , but he can't do it remotely. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Select the folder you wish you have shared access, under the web sharing tab, make sure ftp is listed. If it isn't add it. Under permissions ( or security) tab deselect annon access, slect the permissions button. Make sure the group your friend is part of is listed.

Perhaps that is the problem. You must add youf rien you want to allow access to a group, and that group must be listed int he folder pemsiions settings.

Where you set up your friend as a user, select his/her name, right clcik, and choose add to group. Add to a group you have listed to have permission on that peticular folder. If the option " add to group" isnt available, highlight a group name ( one which you have listed ont hat fodler) and select properties. Select the users tab, and click the add button. Add your friend.

Now, on the folder, if you have administratorsw ( for ex.) and your friend is part of administrators, he/she should be able to log on to that folder, and any other shared folder that has administratotrs listed.
